Mung bean noodles – the healthy, gluten-free alternative to “normal” pasta
As you know we have 4 children in our family and each of our children has different likes, needs and desires; AND we constantly are improving and changing our diet.
Uiuiui. A lot of different things that needs to be balanced here.
As you know: We have lived on a mainly raw food diet for over 6 years now (100% most of the time)
But since almost 2 years we also experiment with small amounts of steamed veggies, brown rice, quinoa, and different healthy (raw) noodle types.
Especially if you are just about to get started, we believe that you should aim for some healthy cooked alternatives to make a slow and smooth transition!
These cooked ingredients are always just a side dishes, but we feel that they improved not only the diversity of our meals, but also helped our health in many ways.
It’s not only the body that needs to be nurished in order to stay thriving healthy!
We have an emotional and spiritual body as well, and sometimes these bodies need something different than our physical body.
Finding a healthy balance here is our task!
Our newest discovery are mung bean noodles. They are gluten-free.
As you do not have to cook them, but just soak them in warm (or hot) water for a short period of time, we want to endorse them here.
We felt light after eating them (of course NOT eating too much and with loads and loads of greens, veggies and salads).
As we always listen to our body, we feel that these healthy alternatives are not only doing NO harm, but help to enjoy food to the max and have happy and healthy children!!
Lots of love and support from Ka and Katie +our 4 kids
