Review of our new recipe e-book
The 70 Best Raw Food recipes of The Rawfoodfamily
written by Anna Rodgers of
I wanted to tell you about this fabulous new raw ebook I have been reading and making delicious meals from!

This the first recipe I tried is already a favorite of mine -Raw Broccoli Burgers! I also made a yummy mango salad with rose petals from my garden, (pictured above).
They were absolutely delicious and I made enough to have more the next day as well. I made a wrap and put the burgers inside like a felafel wrap. They were so yummy and easy to make. You would probably have these ingredients in your fridge anyway. And, they didn’t need to be dehydrated too much, in fact, I made the patties smaller than a normal burger would be and found that they only need a few hours in the dehydrator. This is a recipe that has become a favorite of mine and even pleased the husband!
The book is divided up into sections. Ka and Katie both talk about their experience with raw, how it began etc. It all started whe one of their children, Jano, was quite sick at the age of one with severe asthma. Ka began to question, is this normal and decided no it was not and that having Jaro on an inhaler many times the day was NOT what they wanted for their child. Ka read a book called, ‘When you want to be healthy, forget about cooking’ and found that this was something the whole family would try! It has completely turned their lives around for the best.
In the book, there is advice on what items you may need to start your raw kitchen with (don’t worry its minimal things)
There are so many other things that I want to make and I bet you will too!
These are some of the types of recipes: Coconut milkshake, Banana and Spinach Smoothie, Recipes for different nut and seed milks, Green Juices, breakfast things like mueslis, pancakes (these sound amazing – Carob-coconut with pear sauce!), Applesauce with cinnamon, sesame dream cream (yum and super easy to make). Lunch ideas – Avocado dream cream, Coconut curry, Ketchup, Mashed ‘potatoes’, Pea Soup, Macadamia-Pepper Cheese, Salad Kebabs, Kale Salad, Kale Chips. Plenty of Dip recipes such as Tahini Mayonaise, Vegie Tractors, Sunflower Dip, Beetroot and Spring Dip. Super food Recipes, Carob and Chocolate recipes. Easter Recipes – Fairy Spring Salad, Melon Bees and Easter Bunnies. Christmas Recipes – cookies, cakes, spiced fruit cake. And a whole chapter on foods for parties and birthdays! Igloo cake, Carob Muffins, Pink Cookies, etc etc. And what I loved is the chapter dedicated to making food from things in your own garden. For example, Nettles, Bishops Weed, chickweed. And, would you believe, much more! There are plenty of coloured pictures as well to get you keen to get started!
I definitely rate this as one of my all time favorite raw books because it is so easy to follow with the recipes not costing an arm and a leg.
What is also included are some links to videos that Ka has made with other health related topics such as: ”how they let go of europe and moved to Costa Rica”, How to travel to Asia with kids”, an interview with raw mum Dani about pregnancy and raw food and living a life with raw kids” and an interview with two Yoga teachers in Thailand about health, love and happiness”.
There are also plenty of other fabulous videos showing raw recipes as well!
I really love this book and would recommend it to anyone!!
